Designs in Wood - Street VendorMy style of woodworking is called intarsia: pictorial wood inlay mosaics. Each composition is crafted from separate pieces. Those pieces are individually sanded, rounded, painted or stained, then inlaid to create the finished original design. Alternate direction of wood grains give each finished artwork its own unique character.

Spring is in blossom, and new series of “frit” vases are beginning to take bloom. The colors are subtle and also fully radiant, and as a special joy, when turned upside down and drilled, they become a pendant lamp! I love surprises…The glass instrument series is also going strong - its a good spring of creativity at the glass studio!
Kelly Dawson - Street Vendor
Painted Furniture and 3D Sculpture - Unique furniture is the main target for the color. I like to make it “funiture.” I have
recently began creating pieces out of found objects and unusable furniture.
I use acrylic and latex paint on my pieces. Polymer clay, wire, plastic and glass beads are also be used to create my 3D sculptures. Bright, multi-colors and detailed designs are my trademarks even though I have been known to enjoy painting subtle colored and monochromatic pieces with just a small amount of pattern. I like when a piece “talks” to me and shows me what to paint. I love it when my work brings a smile to someones face.
