"Lacryma Christa del Vesuvio" means the tears of Christ as Vesuvius. The story goes that when Lucifer was cast from Heaven, he descended to Vesuvius. Once there he destroyed the area. When Christ came to the area, he wept. One of his tears fell on the lava and a vine grew. We are sending you both the red and white wines from this area. The white wine is made of 90% Coda di Volpi and 10% Falanghina. |

The two wines we are sending you this month are: Cascina Luisin Barbera D'Alba. Barbera is the grape. This wine comes from the city of Alba and the vintner is Cascina Luisin. Your host is Tim English from Private Reserve of Cleveland Ohio.

The second wine is Bastianich Vespa Bianco. The grape varieties in this white wine are 45% Chardonnay, 45% Souvignon Blanc and 10% Picolit (Late Harvest) Tim English will tell you all about it.
